About the Authors

Bene is a twenty-something Creative Writing student. When not watching shows or refreshing Tumblr, she is currently completing her final year in her Writing major with the prospects of one day becoming a published author. Having been raised on Star Trek since the womb, her main interests include science-fiction, fantasy and historical fiction (in all forms), gaming, writing and researching. When she does blog, she tries to avoid too much self-deprecating humour, usually unsuccessfully. You can find Bene on twitter, her blog or Smashwords.

Currently watching: Stargate, Pushing Daisies, Psych.

Kara is a student of creative writing and children's literature. She's also studied zoology and companion animal services, and has done a semester exchange to the United States. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in Hubbub Exhibition Catalogue and Primo Lux, and she plans to submit further short fiction for publication in the near future. Kara is an avid writer and reader, an animal lover, and a fan of ice hockey. She hopes to post about writing theory, historical women of significance, and female sports figures, among other things. You can find Kara on her blog, on twitter (@karaallenau), and on Smashwords.

Dannielle is a twenty-something, final year Social Science (Human Services) student with dreams of working for the Department of Child Protection after graduation. She loves to read about everything and anything: fiction of all kinds, non-fiction and various blogs and online articles on life as a twenty-something, to which she looks forward to adding her own voice through NYAD. Dannielle recently moved to the south-west of Western Australia and is busy building a life there; working, studying and volunteering in an aged-care home.

Currently Reading: Disciplines of a Godly Woman (Barbara Hughes), Everything I Know About Writing (John Marsden), Daring Chloe (Laura Jensen Walker).

Sarah is a 20-something nanny from the states. She grew up on a farm the eldest of 24 children (don’t worry most were fosters). The only way to get time to herself was to either read on the barn roof or take the 2 hour drive on Saturday morning with her dad to get feed. It was on these trips she was introduced to myths, legends, and a few wizards. This, and the discovery of Harry Potter fanfiction, sparked her desire to write. All her skills are self-taught as she’s forgone traditional post-high school education, for now, to remain home and help take care of her parents and grandmother. In 2012 she self-published an illustrated folklore story and plans to publish again in the future. Though her eventual career of choice is to teach special education. She’s an animal lover with interests in fantasy, historical fiction, photography, and history.
